Reformer Tube Inspection Services
Skydew Energy Services Limited provides specialised reformer tube inspection support in collaboration with its technical partner, FOERSTER BU. The service is applicable to reformer catalyst tubes used in ammonia, methanol, direct reduction iron (DRI) and hydrogen plants.
The inspection approach is designed to support reliable condition monitoring throughout the service life of reformer tubes and related components, helping plant owners identify degradation early and plan corrective action before it develops into unplanned downtime.
Inspection Scope
- Baseline scanning of new reformer tubes prior to commissioning
- Periodic scanning of centrifugally cast reformer catalyst tubes during service life
- Remaining Life Assessment (RLA) using non-destructive methods
- Selected destructive testing of sample tubes through third-party laboratories where required
- Inspection of outlet pigtails for strain and magnetic permeability
- Eddy Current internal-diameter inspection of tube top ends
- External tube and top-end inspection, including LEO-Scan support
